Speedy Revision Tips. Part 1

Speedy Revision Tips. Part 1

IB students are master in revision, so OR can be shifted to end. There are four tips by IB Experts, to prepare for exams.

Speedy 1 Tip: I haven’t started revising and I got just two weeks in my hand. If there is any magic, I need it.

You now realised your mistakes so here is some tips for you to get ready for those exams.

1: Understand the problem.

Fact: - it is going to be a bit disappointing and exhausting but you have to make a strong effort, there are always ways to deal every situation.                                                                                                                          Once there was man named, Donald Rumsfeld, which happens to be in Defence (American Secretary) who famous for both bad and good things. He has an interesting saying: ‘There are things which you know and which you don’t.’ You all need to extract from his statements is that there will be things which you don't know and things which you know. Such as the process of photosynthesis, or differentiation of polynomials.  You know that you were suppose to remember it but you didn't. Moreover, there are going to be sudden surprises like you are unsure about the lesson, or you have never heard of that word, or maybe you didn't attend the class and many more. But there is one insurance that there will be things which you have heard of and it will encourage you ultimately.

And you strongly have to know what is that you need to know.

You can use the following for the beginning of the revision work in the evening (maths): you should invest half an hour for each subject while jotting down your known areas.

·         Functions

·         Differential Calculus

·         Statistics

·         Geometry and Trig

·         Numbers and Algebra

·         Sets, Logic, Probability

For better result, you can break it into simpler topics for detailed understanding. In Number and Algebra:

·         Sequence and Series

·         Simple/ Compound Interest

·         Number systems and accuracy

·         Quadratics

·         Simultaneous equations

·         Units of Measurements

First evening is gone with five or six lists. If you think you can manage more and positive of your activities, you may read the list and priorities your problems by highlighting it.                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                     If buying is out of option, borrow Revision Guide from someone and go through the Syllabus. Or maybe a textbook, but keep this in mind that you don’t have to digest everything and you can even skip some chapters. That's a little relief for sure.

Suggestion: You could question your mentor in classroom or even in public-places, regarding the syllabus of the exam. Presumably, your mentor utter something. Then ask them few priority topics in their mind. Your class will be delighted to know and it will definitely give you some rough idea.

Now you know what the next step: remember that there are no Unknown. Appreciate yourself for your hard work. Later session will be about steps are you going to take. Relax and try to get a good sleep.
